$500 scholarship

Any applicant who is a senior in high school and who is an alumnus of Shade Tree Players or Dakota Stage Ltd. is eligible to apply.

Applicant must write an essay of 750-1000 words describing the positive impact Shade Tree/Dakota Stage had on their lives.

The applicant must also provide:

• Year and production name in which they appeared in a Shade Tree or Dakota Stage Ltd. production(s).
• Theatrical resume.
• Three sealed letters of reference. One letter must be from a director, and one letter must be from a teacher.
• Proof of 50 hours of community service completed January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007.
• A current high school transcript.
• Applicant must plan on being a full time post-secondary student.
• Deadline for applications must be postmarked by January 15, 2008. The scholarship committee will screen applicants in February. The scholarship winner will be announced in March. You can check out the winner on our web page after March at www.dakotastageltd.com.

Essays and above listed enclosures can be mailed to Dakota Stage, Ltd, 412 East Main, Bismarck, ND 58501 and must be postmarked no later than January 15, 2008, along with the above listed enclosures.

Upon receipt of the application, the applicant will receive a postcard noting the application was received and the date winners will be announced – March 31, 2008.

The award becomes final when the student accepts it and actually enrolls in an accredited US school, college or university. All checks are paid directly to the school; under no circumstance can Dakota Stage Ltd. make payment directly to the student.

The scholarship monies may be used for tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board. In order to receive payment, a student must have the school send to our office a completed Verification of Enrollment form, whereupon, we will issue our check, payable to the school, and mail it directly to the school to establish a credit in the name of the student. We will notify the student when we mail the check.
