Morgan Nelson

Executive Director

Morgan is from Mandan and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She then went to work with the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation to manage the Old Town Hall. She also worked with the Medora Musical during her time there. Morgan spent some time in the Chicago area with the Alphabet Soup Company working with costumes and as an assistant stage manager before returning home to North Dakota to explore the stages at True North and Dakota Stage. She has been in several shows with Dakota Stage such as A Dusty Echo, Carrie the Musical, and others. She is ready to get to work with Dakota Stage Ltd. as their Executive Director.

 

Amanda Perry

Amanda Perry spent most of her adolescent life involved in music and community theatre here in Bismarck. She is a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, IA, and has a BFA in Theatre Performance, with emphasis in acting, directing and design. Amanda moved back to Bismarck in hopes of inspiring and cultivating a new love of theater arts in the community she grew up in. For the last 20 years, Amanda has worked with Dakota Stage, Shade Tree Players, DWAC, Bismarck and Mandan Public Schools, Capitol Shakespeare, Sleepy Hollow and other organizations to educate students, train actors and directors, and create unique theatrical productions and other artistic events and opportunities.

In her career, Amanda has directed over 60 productions, Sweeney Todd, Puffs, The Underpants, The Little Mermaid, Doll’s House Part 2 and A Dusty Echo being the most recent. She specializes in children’s theatre, and has directed many of her own adaptations of Shakespeare’s plays. As an artist Amanda also enjoys designing sets, costumes and makeup, and took over as costume manager for Dakota Stage a few years ago.

Amanda has two children, a 9 year old and a 5 year old, who will undoubtedly be very involved with theatre, music and art as they grow up! She is honored to be Artistic Director for Dakota Stage and Shade Tree Players!

 

Arie Morris

Administrative Assistant

Arie has performed all over North Dakota at places such as BSC, MSUM, NDSU, Sleepy Hollow, Dakota Stage, and Crimson Creek. Arie has a Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in performance/ musical theatre from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Some favorite roles/shows include Rent, Cabaret, Rocky Horror, Avenue Q, and Sweeney Todd. When not performing or working at Dakota Stage, Arie is in the operating room as a Surgical Technologist.
